The proposed purchase is for two (2) each 3/4 ton trucks wi th util i ty bodi es to be
utilized in daily operations by the Public Services/Street Department.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were prepared,
published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were public opened and declared on
November 7, 1989. The following is a summary of Bids received.

responded. There were ten (10) valid bids.
Specifi cati ons as bi d have been revi ewed wi th the Di rector of Pub 1 i c Servi ces and
the Fleet Manager who concurs that the Bid of Tom Bell Chevrolet meets
specifications and requirements. It is therefore recommended that the Bid be
accepted for contract wi th the opti ona 1, open top body for four hundred, ni neteen
dollars and seventY:Jix cents ($419.76) required by the Fleet Manager. The equipment
funding is in the 1989/90 budget.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE ORDER TO TOM
BELL CHEVROLET FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF TWO (2) EACH 3/4 TON TRUCKS
3 WITH UTILITY BODIES, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES/STREET DEPARTMENT
IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-90-08.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
5 BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That Tom Bell Chevrolet is the lowest and best responsible
bidder for the furnishing and delivery of two (2) each 3/4 ton trucks with
utility bodies in accordance with Bid Specification F-90-08 for the total

amount of $31,425.50; pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is
hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order for said two (2) each
3/4 ton trucks with utility bodies to said lowest and best responsible bidder;

such award shall only be effective upon the issuance of a Purchase Order by
13
the Purchasing Agent; and all other quotations therefor are hereby rejected.
