March 30, 2006 Mayor & Council, City of San Bernardino Administration, This letter is sent to you in respect of your support with our west's side community 'Fiesta Route- 66' annual program at Mt. Vernon & 11 tho Streets. Weare in need of financial support, since several of our co-sponsors have completed their objective these past few years with tpe " Salute to the Route" program. I have contacted the 'Home of Neighborly Service' Board to allow them the opportunity to promote their non- profit organization by organizing this year's event. Mrs. Amparo Olguin, Director of the Home has agreed. If you are not familiar with this non-profit organization, the 'Home of Neighborly Services' provides a wide range of supportive programs. Some of their projects are consistent with this community's needs. Senior Citizens nutrition, health care provisions and the youth programs that are scheduled daily at the 'Home' to name a few. The 'Home' plays a major role within this community in a historical sense. Many of our Youth Organizations and professionals have advanced to become good citizens based on the educational training they have received as children from these same projects, such as Mr. Penman and myself. This year we will stage a 'Parade', after forty plus idle years, thanks to Albert Okura of Juan Pollo Restaurants as the sponsor. The community has advised this year's committee to continue with a cultural 'Parade' in respect to an annual event during the "Cinco de Mayo" celebrations that are acknowledged throughout the U.S. as a commemorative. The Support of waivioe of City fees would support the promotion and success for this year's 'Parade' event. The Home is a non-profit agency. A financial report is attached along with this letter for support. We appreciate your consideration and your contribution for our articipants. /. (' / " ...~.. /(' ~ L. .'~~ -" .
