S1. Crime problem – additional Police Officers. (See Attached)
MOTION #1: That the Mayor and Common Council set a date for an
immediate workshop to discuss with the Chief of Police how to
immediately address the crime problem we are experiencing in
San Bernardino and how to plan for the permanent reduction
and elimination of this problem in our City; and
MOTION #2: That the Mayor and Common Council discuss and take possible
action on the need to hire additional police officers to address
the current crime problem taking place in our community and to
determine how many more police officers are needed to
eliminate this problem, discuss the amount of money needed,
and how we can raise the funds needed to accomplish this goal.
