CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT SUBJECT A resolution authorizing the increase bf combined Annual Purchase Orders, to Fleet Pride and McCray Enterprises for heavy-duty vehicle brake and gear work, including purchase of various related parts. BACKGROUND On July 6, 2004 the Mayor and Common Council approved Resolution 2004-222 authorizing $82,000 for combined annual purchase orders with two single year renewal options, to Fleet Pride and McCray Enterprises. Fleet Pride of Ontario, and McCray Enterprises of San Bernardino are the vendors that supply heavy-duty brake and gear work, and various related parts to the City's Fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. Due to projected increases in .fabricated metal products (brake shoes), and Foundry forge shop products (brake drums). The Public Services Department, Fleet Division staff is requesting an increase of $13,000 to the combined annual purchase orders, for a total amount not to exceed $95,000. Fleet is requesting authorization to exercise the first year renewal option for these combined purchase orders. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funding for these purchase orders are contained in the Public Services Department, Fleet Division Fiscal Year 2005/2006 Budget Account No. 635-341-5173, Outside Vehicle Maintenance account and Account No. 635-341-5111, Materials and Supplies. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Fleet Pride and McCray Enterprises provide heavy-duty vehicle brake and gear work and other related services for the heavy equipment fleet. Pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Manager is hereby authorized to issue an increase to the Annual Purchase Orders, to Fleet Pride and McCray Enterprises for a combined total amount not to exceed $95,000 beginning in FY 2005-2006. SECTION 2. The Purchase Order shall reference this Resolution No.2005-_ and shall read, "P.O. No. , for heavy-duty brake and gear work, not to exceed a combined total of $95,000" and shall incorporate the terms and conditions of the Contract. SECTION 3.
