Salary Increase effective date was amended during the signing of the contract to October 1, 2004 - June 30, 2004. Recommended Motion: 1. Update the hourly rates for the following grant positions: Food Service Supervisor II from $15.00 to $19.56 per hour and Food Service I from $6.75 to $7.00 per hour. 2. Reclassify the position of Recreation Specialist-Food Service to Food Service-Program Specialist and increase the salary from $9.00 to $11.00 per hour. 3. Create the position of Lead Delivery Driver to the authorized grant positions with an hourly rate of $10.00. 4. BACKGROUND Senior Nutrition Proaram: The City of San Bernardino is celebrating 27 years of demonstrated services as a provider of congregate nutritious meals to our low-income senior population. The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department operates the Senior Nutrition Program. The program is funded and administered through the County of San Bernardino Department of Aging and Adult Services. The grant includes salary increases for the following positions, retroactive to October 1, 2004. CURRENT! POSITION CURRENT PROPOSED NEW! POSITION SALARY SALARY Food Service Sup. Specifications are l!!U intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Under general supervision, performs the duties of a delivery person and assists with food preparation, inventory control, and perform related duties as required. May supervise the Food Service Delivery Person. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS The Lead Delivery Driver position is a specialized position in the Recreation Division of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. Supervision is received from the Food Service Supervisor II or Senior Recreation Supervisor. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES The following duties are typical for positions in this classification. Any single position may not perform all of these duties and/or may perform similar related duties not listed here: I. Provides courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public and City department staffs; 2. Delivers related goods throughout the San Bernardino area for various senior programs. 3. Col1ects, transports locked money boxes received for lunch programs; 4. Assists with food preparation; S. Routinely checks and cleans vehicles to ensure safe and sanitary conditions. 6. Routinely adheres to and maintains a positive attitude towards City and Department goals; and performs related work as required. GENERAL OUALIFICATIONS Abilitv to: Fol1ow oral and written instructions; Work effectively with other employees; Meet the general public with courtesy and tact; Handle field and office operation correspondence; Adjust to work variations as required; Work in a kitchen setting; Operate kitchen and office equipment; Practice safety and sanitation rules and concepts; Fol1ow safe driving practices. One year experience as a paid driver; one year experience as a supervisor; and six (6) months experience as a cook or cook trainee. License or Certificates: Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver's License. A copy of California Department of Motor VehicIes printout dated within 30 days of application must be submitted with the application. Applicant must be insurable. Must obtain a valid San Bernardino County Environmental Health Department Food Handler Card and a negative Tuberculin Test Certification prior to appointment.
