Guy & Son, General Engineering Contractors, Inc. for Sanitary Sewer System Improvements for Proposed SR-210 Freeway Extension at Macy Street and Madison Street from 23"' Street to 26th Street (SW04-17) per Plan No. 10635. Back!!round: On September 2, 2003, the Mayor and Common Council approved Utility Agreement No. 17064 with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the relocation of the subject sewer main in connection with the SR-210 Freeway Extension. On September 15,2003, the Council approved this project as part of the 2003/2004 C.I.P. as Project No. SW04- 17. The cost ofthis project is 100% percent reimbursable from Caltrans. The sanitary sewer line on Madison Street required a field grade that was three feet deeper than the grade delineated on the plans. This activity required the use of larger excavation equipment and additional shoring. Also, work crew productivity losses were incurred due to grading modifications. All these activities are the subject of Contract Change Order No. One. The revised project costs are as follows: Item Estimated Cost Original Construction Costs $184,160.00 Contract Chanl!e Order No. One $ 28000.00 TOTAL $212,160.00 Financial Imuact: Sufficient funding for this project, in the amount of $362,287.00, was approved in the FY 2003/2004 C.I.P. budget in Account No. 245-365-5504-7416 "Macy Street - Relocation of Existing Sewer Main for SR-210 Freeway (SW04-17)." The entire cost of this project is reimbursable from Caltrans under terms of Utility Agreement No. 17604. The actual field grade was three feet deeper than that delineated on the plans. Shorin!! Modifications 1-2 Shoring had to be changed and additional shoring added due to grading modifications. Productivity Loses 1-3 Grading modifications caused workflow interruptions and made it necessary to increase work crew resources. . .
