approve the following dates for regular meetings of the Mayor and Common CounciV

regular meeting dates for 2006

BACKGROUND
This is a request to have the Mayor and Common Council/Community Development
Commission approve the following Council/Commission regular meeting dates for 2006:
January 9 (second Monday); January 23 (fourth Monday); February 6 and 21; March 6
and 20; April 3 and 17; May 1 and 15; June 5 and 19; July 3 and 17; August 7 and 21;
September 5 and 18; October 2 and 16; November 6 and 20; December 4 and 18.
Except for the meetings noted in January, all other regular CounciVCommission
meetings for 2006 will take place on the first and third Mondays of each month, with the
exception of those falling on a holiday. Due to the holidays and the anticipated conflicts
with meeting agenda deadlines, it is proposed that Council/Commission meetings in
January be held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, rather than the first
and third Mondays.
With the Mayor and Common Council's approval of a year-long schedule of regular
meeting dates, it would make it easier for all departments by providing them with as
much notice as possible of deadlines for submitting agenda items for the entire calendar
year.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the Mayor and Common Council and the Community Development Commission
approve the following dates for regular meetings of the Mayor and Common CounciV
Community .Development Commission for the year 2006: January 9 (second Monday);
January 23 (fourth Monday); February 6 and 21; March 6 and 20; April 3 and 17; May 1
and 15; June 5 and 19; July 3 and 17; August 7 and 21; September 5 and 18; October
2 and 16; November 6 and 20; December 4 and 18.
