Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
5115/00 Approval of Plans, authorization to advertise for bids and authorize the Director of
Finance to amend the FY 199912000 Street Construction Budget to: a) Appropriate $99,000 to
242-362-5540-1783 (Flood Damage Repair); and b) Increase Revenue Account No. 242-000-
4630 (Federal Aid) by $87,600 to reflect the corresponding reimbursement received by the
City from the Federal Highway Administration,

Staff Report
Subiect:
Resolution awarding contract to Hubbs and Ferrante for Flood Damage Repair at Alabama
Street-Tippecanoe Avenue at the Santa Ana River; and Pepper Avenue at the East side North
of Rialto Avenue Per Plan No. 10035.
Backl:!round:
The City received an $87,600 reimbursable Federal Aid Grant from the Federal Highway
Administration (FHW A) for street damage repairs at the above listed locations due to flooding
during the El Nifio storm several years ago. This amount represented 88.53 percent of the
total estimated project cost while the City was responsible for the remaining 11.47 percent
local match.
Plans and specifications for this project are complete and it is ready to be awarded. The
project consists of replacing pavement and guardrail at Alabama Street, and curb, gutter and
sidewalk at Tippecanoe Avenue and at Pepper Avenue.

Financial Imoact:
Funding for this project in the amount of $67,911.36 (88.53 percent) will be reimbursed by
FHWA, and the remaining $8,798.64 (11.47 percent) local match will be charged to Account
No. 242-362-5504-7183 (Flood Damage Repair).
Recommendation:
That the Mayor and Common Council adopt the Resolution awarding the contract to Hubbs &
Ferrante for Flood Damage Repair at Alabama Street-Tippecanoe Avenue at the Santa Ana
River, and Pepper Avenue at the East side and North of Rialto Avenue, per Plan No. 10035.
