Sept. 6, 2005 Synopsis of Previous Council Action: On December 20, 2005, the Mayor and Common Council approved the establishment of salaries for Police Department Ranges P-4, P-5. P-6, and P-7, effective August 1, 2004 Recommended Motion: 1 That the salaries for Police Department Ranges P-4 (Lieutenant), P-5 (Captain), P-6 (Assistant Police Chief), and P-7 (Police Chief) be established, effective August 1, 2005 2. The salaries of those ten cities have been averaged to determine the salaries for this year for Police Safety classifications. The amount of Charter 186 increases outlined above for the Police Management group is $78,700 This action along with the Police Safety Group will leave a balance of $1 ,060,000 for the remaining 186 salary increases. MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD Using the California Department of Finance, Demographic Unit, California Cities Ranked by Total Population as of January 1,2005, the attached list of cities was then used to calculate the Police Management Unit salaries for Fiscal Year 2005-06.
