2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING TITLE 19 OF
HE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO PERMIT AMUSEMENT ENTERPRISES
3 IN THE C-3 GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT SUBJECT TO A CONDITIONAL
DEVELOPMENT PERMIT.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
5 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Subsection C. of Section 19.28.020 of the San
7 Bernardino Municipal Code is amended to read:
8

electronic and mechanical games of skill, subject to a

conditional development permit.

a. Automobile service stations, including locations

where gasoline dispensing pumps are installed for the
20
sale of motor fuels in combination with some other type

of retail service, subject to a conditional development
22
permit. Service station pump islands shall not be
23
closer than f""urteen feet from the street property line.

The distance shall be measured from the nearest street
25
property line to the nearest edge of the pump island.
26
b. The conversion of a building designed for use as an
27
automobile service station to a different permitted use
28
shall be subject to a conditional development permit.

5. Automobile wash, subject to a conditional development
permit.
6. Baths, Turkish, steam or other public.
7. Blueprinting and photocopying.
8. Bowling alleys.
9. Boxing arenas, subject to a conditional development
permit.
10. Dancehalls, subject to a conditional development permit.
11. Drive-in theaters, subject to a conditional development
permit.
12. Employment agencies.
13. Ice or roller skating, subject to a conditional
development permit.
14. Mortuaries and funeral parlors, subject to a conditional
development permit.
15. Motels and motor hotels, subject to a conditional
development permit.
16. Pool halls, subject to a conditional development permit.
17. Repair garages, including automobile and truck repair
and painting or upholstering (conducted wholly within a
building ).
18. Swimming pools.
19. Tire retreading and recapping. The operation shall be
completely enclosed in a building of commercial
appearance. Space devoted to tire retreading and
recapping shall not exceed 25 percent of total first
floor area. New and used tire storage area shall not be
a part of the retreading and recapping area. The tire

buffer room shall contain motors, blowers and buffer
equipment. A waste container for buffed or waste rubber
shall be located outside the buffer room, but within the
enclosed building. The buffer room shall be reasonably
fireproof and soundproof.
20. Trade schools which do not produce objectionable noise,
light, odor, vibration or dust.
21. Trailer camp, subject to a conditional development
permit.
22. Trampolines, subject to a conditional development
permit.
23. Upholstery shop.
24. Wedding chapels."
SECTION 2. Subsection C. of Section 19.32.020 of the San
Bernardino Municipal Code is amended to read:
"C. Other uses.
1. Film distributors.
2. Pawnbrokers, subject to a conditional development
permit.
Electric distribution substations."

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino at a n adjourned regular meeting thereof, held
on the 23rd day of March , 1981, by the following
vote, to wit:
