ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION
15.04.078 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE; AND REVISING THE
PROVISIONS RELATING TO WAIVER OF FEES FOR PROPERTY DAMAGED DUE TO
NATURAL DISASTER TO PROVIDE FOR EXEMPTION FROM PERMIT FEES FOR ONE
YEAR AFTER THE DISASTER.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 15.04.078 of the San Bernardino Municipal
8 Code is amended to read:

"15.04.078 UBC Section 303 (f) added - Exemption from fees.

UBC Section 303 (f) is added to read as follows:

Section 303. (f) Exemption from Building Permit Fees.

1. Historic Preservation - No fees shall be charged for
13 permits issued for repairs, alterations or additions for the
14 preservation, restoration or rehabilitation of a building or

15 'structure which is a qualified historical building or structure
16 pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 18955, a qualified
,
17 'historical property pursuant to Public Resources Code Section
18 5031, a registered historical landmark pursuant to Public
19 Resources Code Section 5021, or a point of historical interest
20 pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 5022.5.

2. Natural Disaster Damage - No fees shall be charged for
22 permits issued within one year after the disaster to owners of
23 damaged or destroyed structures located in an area designated as a
24 disaster area by resolution of the Mayor and Common Council to
25 repair damage caused by natural disaster. This exception shall
26 apply only to property owners of record at the time of the
27 disaster, and not to persons subsequently acquiring the property."
