HomeMy WebLinkAboutMC-118 1 Fe- 118 ORDINANCE NO. 2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING TITLE 5 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE; IMPLEMENTING CHANGES TO JULY OF EACH YEAR FOR COLLECTION OF SOME ANNUAL BUSINESS LICENSE FEES; PROVIDING FOR IMPOSITION OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY PERCENT OF ANNUAL LICENSE FEE FOR AN EIGHTEEN MONTH PERIOD COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1982; AND ABOLISHING A REDUCED FEE FOR NEW LICENSES USING MOTOR VEHICLES. 3 4 5 6 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 8 SECTION 1. Section 5.04.030 Subsection G. of the San 9 Bernardino Municipal Code is amended to read: 10 "G. Annual license fees are due and payable at the time 11 specified in this article. If the time for payment is not 12 otherwise specified, annual license fees are payable as follows: 13 For the period commencing January 1, 1982, each licensee shall be 14 liable for one hundred fifty percent of the annual fee, to cover 15 the period from January 1, 1982 to June 30, 1983. Thereafter, the 16 fee shall be payable on the first day of July of each year and 17 shall be valid for the year ending the following June 30. The 18 first annual license issued to any person shall be issued for the 19 unexpired period of the year or issuance, except as otherwise 20 provided in this article. For any new license issued after July 21 1, 1982, the annual fee shall apply." 22 SECTION 2. Section 5.04.545 Subsection E. of the San 23 Bernardino Municipal Code is amended to read: 24 "E. From January 1, 1982 to June 30, 1982, the applicable 25 base fee shall be one hundred fifty percent of the fee provided 26 for in Subsections A, B, C and D, and the license shall be valid 27 until June 30, 1983. After June 30, 1982, the applicable fee will 28 be as specified in Subsections A, B, C and D, and licenses shall . Me-UB > 1 be renewable on the first day of July of each year. To effect 2 earlier collection of contractor's license fees, the Clerk, upon 3 tender of fifty percent of the applicable fee during the first 4 fifteen days of any licensing period provided for herein, is 5 authorized to issue the license." 6 SECTION 3. Section 5.04.620 of the San Bernardino Municipal 7 Code is amended to read: 8 "5.04.620 Fee for vehicles used in conducting business. 9 Every person, firm or corporation conducting, managing or i carrying on any business of any kind in the City and employing 10 U vehicles, automobiles or motor vehicles in the conduct of such 12 business shall pay a license fee of twenty-four dollars and fifty 13 cents per year for each such vehicle, automobile or motor vehicle 14 used in such business within the corporate limits of the City; 15 provided, however, that this section shall not apply to any 16 person, firm or corporation holding a license for any such 17 business under any other provision of this article." 18 SECTION 4. Section 5.20.160 of the San Bernardino Municipal 19 Code is amended to read: 20 "5.20.160 Expiration and renewal of permit. 21 All permits issued under the provisions hereof shall expire 22 on the first day of January of 1982, and thereafter, on the first 23 day of July of each year commencing with 1983. For the period 24 from January I, 1982 to June 30, 1983, a renewal permit may be 25 issued upon application to the City Clerk and the payment of a 26 renewal fee of fifteen dollars. Any application for renewal must 27 be made on or before the fifteenth day of January of 1982. For 28 any renewal permit sought after June 30, 1983, a renewal permit -2- Me-liB '. 1 may be issued upon application to the City Clerk and the payment 2 of a renewal fee of ten dollars. Any application for renewal must J be made on or before the fifteenth day of July of each year, 4 co~nencing in 1983.
