2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO SUSPENDING PERMIT

3 GUTTEUS IN FRONT OF EXISTING IMPROVED PROPERTY UNTIL JANUARY 1,
1984.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
5 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SEC'I'ION 1. Findings. 'l'he Mayor and Common Council do find
7 that the City of San Bernardino is presently suffering economic
8 distress due to high unemployment and the generally poor economic
9 climate affecting the state and nation; the Mayor and Common
10 Council are satisfied that with additional stimulus to property
11 owners, property owners may be encouraged to till in sidewalks,
12 curbs and gutters in front ot and adjacent to improved property on
13 \lhich a building or other improvement is situated where such
14 public improvements have not already been made, to the substantial
15 betterment of the community, meeting community needs, and also
16 stimulating the economy of the local area. 'l'he Mayor and Common
17 Council are satisfied that suspending permit and inspection fees
18 applicable to the installation of sidewalks, curbs and gutters in
19 front of such already improved property would be a stimulus to
20 such impr'ovement, and would serve the public purpose.

SECTION 2.
Implementation. Commencing upon the effective
22 date of this ordinance, and continuing until January 1, 1984,
23 permit fees and inspection fees levied by the City of San
24 Bernardino shall be suspended as to any project for installation
25 of side\lalks, curbs or gutters, or any combination thereof,
26 fronting on existing improved property in the City of San
27 Bernardino. For purposes of this ordinance, the phrase "fronting
28 on" shall include along side, where a corner lot is involved on

which a building presently exists. "Existing improved property"
shall mean any parcel of real estate on which a home, building or
other permanent improvement now exists.
