ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. MC-297 TO SPECIFY THAT THE TAX INCREASE EFFECTED BY ORDINANCE
NO. MC-297 SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE COMMENCING ON THE FIRST DAY OF
JTHE FIRST FULL BILLING PERIOD THAT BEGINS AFTER SEPTEMBER 29, 1983
FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE PROVIDERS; AND DECLARING THE URGENCY

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
6 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. Ordinance No. MC-297 Section 10 is amended to read as
8 follows:

"SECTION 10. Urgency. This ordinance is adopted as an
10 urgency measure, inasmuch as it provides for a tax levy for the
11 usual and current expenses of the City. The tax increase effected
12 by this ordinance shall be put into effect on September 29, 1983
13 as to all billings generated by all service providers on or after
14 September 29, 1983, except electrical service providers. As to
15 electrical service providers, the tax increase imposed by this
16 ordinance shall become effective commencing on the first day of
17 the first full billing period that begins after September 29,
18 1983. The facts constituting such urgency are that an increase in
19 the rate of the service users tax to eight percent is necessary to
20 provide sufficient revenue to balance the 1983-1984 fiscal budget
21 of the City of San Bernardino which was approved July 1, 1983, and
22 so that sufficient revenue can be collected to meet the financial
23 obligations and indebtedness of the City being incurred."

SECTION 2. Urgency. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency
25 measure, inasmuch as it further clarifies a tax levy for the usual
26 and current expenses of the City.
27 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
28 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
