ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION
5.56.040 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO REQUIRE
FINGERPRINT IN ADDITION TO NAI1E AND ADDRESS OF PERSONS LEAVING
PROPERTY IN PLEDGE WITH JUNK DEALERS, SECONDHAND DEALERS,
PAWNBROKERS, AND LOAN BROKERS.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 5.56.040 of the San Bernardino Municipal
8 Code is amended to read:

"5.56.040 Signature, address, and fingerprint required of
10 persons leaving property in pledge.
11 Every junk dealer, secondhand dealer, pawnbroker, loan
12 broker, or proprietor, keeper, or owner of any office or other
13 place of business where money is loaned on personal property for
14 compensation, their agents and employees, shall cause the person
15 or persons by whom the property is left in pledge, stored,
16 depos i ted, or from whom purchased, to provide the fo 11m"ing
17 for inclusion on the report required by Section 5.56.010:
18 his or her true signature, correct address and a plain
19 fingerprint impression of his or her right index finger, or
20 if the right index finger is missing, another of his or her
21 fingers with a designation of which finger is used."
