2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION
2.56.140 TO ADD SUBSECTION B TO REQUIRE CLOSING OF THE ROSTER
3 OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS 30 DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF ANY MUNICIPAL
ELECTION.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
5 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. Section 2.56.140 of tDe San Bernardino Municipal
7 Code is amended to read as follows:
8 "A. All ballots cast under the provisions of the Absent
9 Voters Law, in order that they may be counted, shall be issued,
10 received and canvassed within tC1e time provided for in general
11 law cities.

B. Commencing tuirty (30) calendar days before the date of
13 any primary, general, special or recall municipal election, the
14 roster of absentee voters and absentee ballot a?plications shall
15 be closed to inspection by any person except authorized employees
16 of the City Clerk's office or other authorized person designated
17 by the City Clerk, and shall remain closed to such inspection
18 until the first business day following the date of the election.
19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
20 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
21 Bernardino at an adjourned regulaF__________ meeting thereof, held
