Me-50? 2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ADDING SECTION 19.28.035 TO THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO LIMIT EXPANSION 3 OF MINI-STORAGE FACILITIES IN THE C-3 ZONE, AND AMENDING SECTION 19.36.020 TO PERMIT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MINI STORAGE FACILITIES 4 SUBJECT TO A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT IN M-l LIGHT INDUSTRIAL ZONES. 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 6 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION 1. Section 19.28.035 is added to the San Bernardino 8 Municipal Code to read: 9 "19.28.035 Expansion of uses. 10 Expansion of mini-storage facilities shall be permitted only ]] for mini-storage facilities for which: ]2 1. a business permit for an operating mini-storage ]3 facility was in effect on March 1, 19861 and 14 2. expansion is sought on the same or a contiguous ]5 parcel of land which was, on March 1, 1986, under the same ]6 ownership as the existing mini-storage facility." 17 SECTION 2. Section 19.36.020 of the San Bernardino ]8 Municipal Code is amended to read: 19 "19.36.020 Uses permitted. 20 It is unlawful for any person to use a building or land, or 2] to erect, structurally alter, enlarge or maintain a building 22 except for the following purposes: 23 A. Assembly of small electrical and mechanical appliances 24 and electronic instruments. 25 B. Automatic screw machines, blacksmith shops and machine 26 shops, excluding punch presses over twenty tons, drop hammerS1 27 C. Automobile assembly, battery manufacturing, body and 28 1 I.~ 1 fender works, painting, rebuilding, reconditioning, tire 2 retreading and recapping, truck repairing and overhauling, 3 upholstering and like uses: 4 D. Automobile impound yards, subject to a conditional use 5 permit: 6 E. 1. Automobile service stations, including locations 7 where gasoline dispensing pumps are installed for the sale of 8 motor fuels in combination with some other type of retail service 9 (subject to a conditional use permit): service station pump 10 island shall not be closer than fourteen feet from the street 11 property line which distance shall be measured from the nearest 12 street property line to the nearest edge of the pump island: 13 2. The conversion of a building designed for use as an 14 automobile service station to a different permitted use shall be 15 sUbject to a conditional use permit requirements: 16 3. The provisions of Chapter 8.33 shall apply to each 17 automobile service station site: 18 F. Contractors' storage yards when conducted entirely within 19 a building or within an open space entirely enclosed with a six- 20 foot high chain link fence or six-foot high masonry wall: the 21 front wall or fence shall be set back not less than six feet from 22 the front property line: the six-foot setback area shall be 23 landscaped and maintained: 24 G. Draying and freight yards: 25 H. Electric distribution substations: 26 I. Feed and fuel yards, subject to the same provisions as 27 required in subsection F: 28 2 Me-50} 1 J. House moving storage yards, subject to a conditional use 2 permit; 3 K. Laundries and dry cleaning plants, carpet and rug 4 cleaning plants and like uses; 5 L. Lumber yards, subject to the same provisions as required 6 in subsect ion F; 7 M. Machinery rentals when conducted entirely within an 8 enclosed yard as required by subsection F; 9 N. Manufacture and maintenance of billboards and electrical 10 signs, commercial advertising structures, subject to compliance 11 with the provisions of Chapter 19.60; light sheet metal products, 12 including heating and ventilating ducts and equipment, cornices, 13 eaves and the like; 14 o. Manufacture of novelties, metal and rubber stamps and 15 toys; 16 P. Manufacturing, compounding, assembly or treatment of 17 articles or merchandise from the following previously prepared 18 materials: bone, cellophane, canvas, cloth, feathers, felt, 19 fiber, fur, glass, hair, horns, leather, paints not employing a 20 boiling process, paper, plastics, precious or semiprecious metals 21 or stones, shells, textiles, tobacco, wood and yarns; 22 Q. Manufacturing, compounding, processing, packaging or 23 treatment of products such as: bakery goods, candy, cosmetics, 24 dairy products, drugs, food products (excluding sauerkraut, 25 vinegar, yeast and the rendering of fats and oils), perfumes and 26 toiletries; 27 R. Manufacturing of figurines, pottery or similar ceramic 28 3 MC-50l 1 products using only previously pulverized clay in kilns fired by 2 electricity or gasl 3 S. Mini-storage facilities, sUbject to a conditional use 4 permitl 5 6 T. Movie studioSl u. Poultry or rabbit killing incidental to sale on the 7 premisesl 8 9 10 11 12 13 V. Repair garagesl W. Retail lumber yards including incidental mill workl X. Small boat building and repairsl Y. Veterinarian animal hospitall z. Wholesaling and warehousingl AA.
