ORDINANCE NO. MC-555
2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION
19.56.020 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE
3 REQUIREMENT OF GARAGES AND CARPORTS WHEN A STRUCTURE IS TO BE
REHABILITATED.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
5 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. section 19.56.020 of the San Bernardino
7 Municipal Code is amended by adding Subsection H to read as
8 follows:

"H. Whenever a residential structure is substantially
10 rehabilitated, repaired or remodeled, and there is evidence
11 that a garage or carport once existed on the property, then the
12 garage or carport shall be repaired or constructed in compli-
13 ance with current applicable provisions of the code. The
14 replacement garage or carport shall accommodate not less than
15 the same number of automobiles as the original structure. This
16 requirement shall not be applicable where there is less than
17 ten feet of access from the street to the garage or carport."
