MC-713 2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION- 2(E) OF ORDINANCE NUMBER MC-675 ENTITLED AN "ORDINANCE. 3 PROVIDING THAT RENTS FOR MOBILE HOME SITES SHALL NOT EXCEED THOSE IN EFFECT ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE " 4 TO EXTEND THE MORATORIUM PERIOD, AS DEFINED THEREIN, FOR AN ADDITIONAL 60 DAYS AND SETTING FORTH THE URGENCY THEREOF. 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 6 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION 1. WHEREAS, those conditions relative to the 8 general health, safety and welfare in existence at the time of 10 existence at this time. 9 the original adoption of Ordinance Number MC-675 continue in 11 SECTION 2. 2(E) of Ordinance Number MC-675 is amended 12 to read as follows: 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 "Moratorium Period": The period of time beginning on the effective date of this ordinance and continuing for 270 calendar days thereafter; or until such time as the Mayor and Common Council establish a procedure for the adjustment and for regulation of rents, whichever occurs first. SECTION 3. This is an urgency ordinance which shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. The facts supporting 21 the urgency are that the original mobile home rent "moratorium" 22 ordinance is about to expire and the mobile home tenants/owners 23 and the mobile home park owners are still engaged in negotiations 24 / / / 25 / / / 26 / / / 27 / / / 28 JFW:br[Mobi12Ea.Ord] 12/7/89 1 .~ /JI(~ J/3 1 to achieve a fair and equitable solution to the problem of 2 significant rent increases for persons living in mobile homes 3 who cannot seek other housing in the same way that an apartment 4 renter could.
