2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 19.56.370 AND 19.56.380
3 REGARDING THE SURFACING OR PAVING OF PARKING OR OUTDOOR STORAGE
AREAS.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
5 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1.
Section 19.56.370 of the San Bernardino
7 Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

"19.56.370 Treatment of public or private parking and
9
outdoor storage, sales, or display areas.
10
Each parcel of land used for public or private
11
vehicular parking, or for outdoor storage, sales, or
display, except the storage area for vehicles in
impounded yards, shall be improved and maintained as
required in Sections 19.56.380 through 19.56.430 of
this Chapter."
SECTION 2.
Section 19.56.380 of the San Bernardino

17 Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

"19.56.380 Surfacing or paving.
All areas listed in Section 19.56.370 of this
Chapter which are not landscaped shall be surfaced or
paved with asphaltic concrete, concrete, or any City
Engineer approved bituminous surfacing; except that
storage areas for industrial uses may be surfaced
with slag or other material with the approval of the
Director of the Planning and Building Services
Department and the Director of the Public Works
Department, or their designees, provided that toxic

or hazardous materials, including but not limited to

those enumerated in Section 8.80.010 of this Code,
3
are not located in such storage areas. Any required
4
surfacing or paving shall be maintained in good
5
condi tion. "

7 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of

San Bernardino at a regular
