ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CHAPTER
15.25 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO A PROGRAM
TO IMPROVE RENTAL HOUSING.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance Number MC-930, is
hereby repealed.
Section 2. Urgency. Chapter 15.25 of the San Bernardino
Municipal Code requires owners to maintain their rental property
and insures such compliance through an inspection program. This
program has proven to be effective in the reduction of blight
within the City. Any lapse in this Rental Housing Maintenance and
Inspection Program would be detrimental and constitutes a threat
to the preservation of the public health and safety of the
residents of the City of San Bernardino by allowing the
degradation of the City's rental housing stock to continue. This
ordinance is therefore declared to be an urgency ordinance and
shall be in full force and effect upon enactment.
