ORDINANCE NO. MC-965
1 AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ADDING
SUBSECTION C TO SECTION 8.60.120 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE
2 RELATING TO FIREWORKS IN HIGH FIRE AREAS IN THE 1996 SEASON.
3 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
4 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
5 SECTION 1. Subsection C is hereby added to Section 8.60.120 of the San Bernardino
6 Municipal Code to read as follows:

"C.
Notwithstanding subsection B, and for the 1996 season only, fireworks may
be discharged in the areas described in subsection B, but only if a permit is
issued by the San Bernardino Fire Department pursuant to Health and Safety
Code Section 12640(c) and 19 California Code of Regulations Section 982
et. seq

10 SECTION 2. This ordinance expires on December 31, 1996, and thereafter shall be of no
11 further force and effect.
12 SECTION 3: This is an urgency ordinance that will take effect immediately upon its
13 enactment. The facts establishing the urgency are that the controlled use of fireworks at a major
14 location of public assembly will greatly limit the private and individual use of such fireworks in areas
15 that are high fire danger, and will therefore protect the public health, safety and welfare.
