ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ADDING SECTION 15.16.400
TO THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE, DESIGNATING THE BUILDING
OFFICIAL AS AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE FIRE CHIEF TO
ENFORCE BUILDING STANDARDS ADOPTED BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE FIRE
MARSHAL RELATED TO NEW CONSTRUCTION OR ALTERATIONS.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Whereas, Section 13146 of the California Health and Safety Code requires the Fire Chief or an
authorized representative, to enforce building standards adopted by the California State Fire
11
Marshal;

Now Therefore:

Section I. San Bernardino Municipal Code Section 15.16.400 is hereby added to read as
14
follows:

"15.16.400 Authorized Fire Chief Representative.

Pursuant to California Fire Code Section 101,2.2.2 and California Building Code Section
17
101.17.14 the Building Official is hereby authorized to act as an authorized representative
18
of the Fire Chief to enforce building standards adopted by the California State Fire
19
Marshal related to new construction or alterations,"
