HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-27-1995 Minutes MINUTES MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JULY 27, 1995 COUNCIL CHAMBERS This is the time and place set for an adjourned regular meeting of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino from the adjourned regular meeting held at 8:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 1995, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 300 North "D" Street, San Bernardino, California. The City Clerk has caused to be posted the order of adjournment of said meeting held on Monday, July 24, 1995, and has on file in the Office of the City Clerk an affidavit of posting together with a copy of said order which was posted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 1995, on the door of the place at which said meeting was held. The adjourned regular meeting of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino was called to order by Mayor Minor at 4: 03 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 300 North "D" Street, San Bernardino, California. ROLL CALL Roll call was taken by City Clerk Rachel Clark with the following being present: Mayor Minor; Council Members Negrete, Hernandez, Oberhelman, Devlin; Senior Assistant City Attorney Barlow, Gale Schlesinger, Special Counsel, Economic Development Agency; City Clerk Rachel Clark; City Administrator Shauna Clark. Absent: Council Members Curlin, Pope-Ludlam, Miller. READING OF RESOLUTIONS City Clerk Rachel Clark read the titles of the resolutions (Items 29A and 29B) on the regular agenda of the Mayor and Common Council meeting of July 24, 1995. NOTE: Items 1 through 28 were addressed at the Mayor and Common Council meeting of July 24, 1995. RES. 95-268 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE ORDER TO TOTER, INC., FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF EIGHTY-FOUR THOUSAND (84,000) AUTOMATED REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION CONTAINERS, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT. (Continued from July 24, 1995) (29A) 1 7/27/95 RES. 95-269 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A SCHEDULE A-2 ADDENDUM TO LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT OF ASSOCIATES COMMERCIAL CORPORATION, FOR THE FINANCING OF 12,000 BLACK 96 GALLON AUTOMATED REFUSE CONTAINERS, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES/REFUSE DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-95-28. (Continued from July 24, 1995) (29B) Jim Howell, Acting Director of Public Services, explained the bid process and answered questions regarding the refuse containers. John Lightburn, representing Zarn, Inc., explained that Zarn had originally been the lowest bidder; however, because of reasons unknown to them, the City chose to rebid. Mr. Lightburn cautioned the City to make an informed decision based on the uncertainty of costs five years from now. The motion carried and Resolution Nos. 95-268 and 95-269 were adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Council Members Negrete, Curlin, Hernandez, Oberhelman, Devlin, Pope-Ludlam, Miller. Nays: None. Absent: None.
