Police lead multi-agency gang sweep across the city Police lead multi-agency gang sweep across the city On Friday, the San Bernardino Police Department lead a multi-agency gang suppression sweep that included San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies, as well as officers Rialto, Redlands, Fontana, Fontana School Police, Colton, and Upland police departments. Over 80 officers and deputies assisted with this operation. As a result of the sweep, officers made 30 felony arrests, 12 misdemeanor arrests, Recovered 16 firearms, 3 ounces of methamphetamine, 1 ounce of cocaine, a large amount of PCP, and 2 stolen vehicles SBPD would like to thank all the agencies who assisted in this operation. Officers arrested two suspects and were able to recover 6.3 lbs. of meth; 4 lbs. amphetamine pills; 2 pounds 6 oz. of Oxycodone; 5.6 ounces of Alprazolam; 8 grams of Cocaine HCL; and approximately 2,000 fentanyl pills. The City will be awarding a total of $100,000 with individual grants of up to $25,000. Local artists who are interested in participating in the SB Festival and Arts Fest are encouraged to apply for the grant as they can be awarded $250 to cover their insurance for the year and 30-day sellers permit for the Festival. The grant will help fund four reservoir seismic retrofits which will enhance long term water supply resiliency. Thanks to Rep. Pete Aguilar for his support which was instrumental in helping secure this grant. Animal Services Receives $180,00 GrantAnimal Services Receives $180,00 Grant The State’s “California for All Animals” initiative has awarded San Bernardino $180,000 to fund dedicated volunteer and foster coordinator positions. By adding these positions to the department, Animal Services will be able to increase the number of volunteers providing care to the animals at the shelter and grow the number of foster homes for pets in the community. Cardholders can check out a free vehicle day-use entry valid at over 200 participating state parks. Passes may be checked out for up to three weeks at a time on a first- come, first-served basis.
