City contractor has installed 20 solar powered
Cobra head streetlights. 45 additional solar
ornamental lights are on order.

Seccombe Lake Park
Installation will be completed this week on 65
new solar lights at Seccombe Lake. This lighting
helps with safety and way finding, eliminates the
threat of wire theft, and saves in electricity costs.

Crews continue to repair and install safety and
mobility improvements for pedestrians and
disabled residents throughout the city.

Graffiti Cleanup and Deterrence Continues
Public Works continues to
actively clean up graffiti in the
city.
All utility cabinets and smaller
cabinets in the downtown area
are being painted white as a base color in
preparation for artistic painting or wraps to deter
graffiti. This covers the Arrowhead to E Street
corridors between 4th and 2nd Streets.
A utility cabinet was recently painted with the
colors of the Ukrainian Flag in solidarity with
the people of Ukraine.

Library Resumes Citizenship Classes
On March 29th, the City Clerk’s Office successfully passed a
State Department audit as part of its review of all passport
acceptance agencies to assess compliance with the current
Passport Agent regulations.
The City Clerk’s Office processes passport applications by
appointment Mon-Thurs from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Eggstravaganza for kids 12 and under from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Saturday, April 9 at Delmann
Heights Park - 2969 N Flores St.
Staff (pictured) have stuffed

There will be crafts, games,
food, booths and photos with
the Easter Bunny.

On March 25-26, the Police Department
deployed a contingent of officers to the
NOS for the first large music festival of the
year. Attendance was estimated around
50,000 and the event concluded with no
major incidents.
On Sunday March 27th, Officers responded
to a carjacking of an Amazon delivery
driver. Officers located the stolen van a
short time later and after a lengthy vehicle
and foot pursuit, took the armed suspect
into custody.
On March 25-26, the Police Department

New Police Chief NamedNew Police Chief Named
After a nationwide search, the City of San
Bernardino has announced that Darren Goodman
has been selected to be the next Chief of Police.
Goodman has been in law enforcement for over
31 years, and comes to San Bernardino from the
City of Upland, where he has spent the last four
years as its Chief of Police.
Goodman, whose starting date will be June 1st,
joins a department currently with 262 sworn
officers and 150 civilian staff. He will be the first
African-American police chief in the San
Bernardino Police department’s 116-year history.
