She had been unsheltered for at least two years. Diane was desperately in need of a change from the harsh elements and demanding environment living on the streets. Working with the outreach team staff, she was willing to trust the process and do whatever it took to find housing. She was first able to be placed at the Super 8 Motel. For several weeks, Diane worked closely with her case manager, attending all of the necessary appointments with Step Up. Diane and her puppy Shadow first met the Homeless Outreach Team in June. She and Shadow now have a place they can call home. The San Bernardino Homeless Outreach Team was launched on June 15 to engage homeless individuals to effectively and efficiently connect them with available housing and other services. Residents and businesses can report issues or request assistance from the Homeless Outreach Team by calling (909) 936-3478 or by email at homelesshelp@sbcity.org. New Hotel Coming to San BernardinoNew Hotel Coming to San Bernardino Planning Commission on August 29 approved the development of a new 114 room Everhome Suites Hotel to be located at 898 East Harriman Place, near Hospitality Lane. The four-story building is expected to take twelve months to construct. Everhome Suites is an extended stay hotel brand of Choice Hotels, which includes Cambria Hotels, Comfort Inn, Clarion Hotels, and Quality Inn. This Saturday - Symphony at Roosevelt BowlThis Saturday - Symphony at Roosevelt Bowl With a theme of “A Night to Remember” heavenly sounds of classical music to one of San Bernardino’s most historic venues. There will also be an “instrument petting zoo for kids to try out some of the instruments in an orchestra. Gates open at 5:00 with the concert running from 7:00 until 9:30. Parks and Recreation, with support from Hillwood, will be bringing Maestro Anthony Parthner and the San Bernardino Symphony to Perris Hill Park’s Roosevelt Bowl this Saturday, September 9 for a free concert.
