City Hosts Small Business Conference Last week, the City partnered with America’s Small Business Development Center to host the first Small Business Conference. Over 200 small business owners and entrepreneurs attended the event, taking advantage of over twenty breakout sessions on subjects such as Access to Capital; Digital Marketing; Contracting; and International Trade. State Street Extension Nearing CompletionState Street Extension Nearing Completion The ½ mile extension of State Street from 16th Street to Baseline is nearing completion. Following some delays due to the relocation of power lines by Edison, the street is expected to open later this year. Cleaning Up the CityCleaning Up the City The City Manager and Public Works Staff met with Caltrans last week to discuss concerns about the condition of the 210, 215, 10, and 259 Freeways, on ramps, and off ramps in San Bernardino in comparison to other cities and our expectations. The meeting was very productive. Cleanup and landscaping crews have been spotted daily in San Bernardino since the meeting. Animal ServicesAnimal Services The Animal Shelter currently has over 250 wonderful dogs and dozens of cats, including kittens available for adoption. Through August 31, all adoptions are only $25, which includes spay/neutering, vaccines, and microchipping. Little League Baseball Regionals In San Bernardino Little League Baseball Regionals In San Bernardino All Star teams from the Western United States will be in San Bernardino August 5-11 for the Western Regionals. City SpendingCity Spending All contracts in excess of $40,000 signed by the City Manager, Agency Directors, Directors and/or their designees shall be reported (in list form) to the Mayor and City Council at each Regular City Council meeting during the City Manager Update.
