National Night OutNational Night Out
Last Night, the City celebrated National Night Out, which promotes
police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to
make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

City Hosts Small Business Conference
Last week, the City partnered with America’s Small Business Development Center to
host the first Small Business Conference. Over 200 small business owners and
entrepreneurs attended the event, taking advantage of over twenty breakout
sessions on subjects such as Access to Capital; Digital Marketing; Contracting; and
International Trade.

Cleaning Up the CityCleaning Up the City
The City Manager and Public Works Staff met with Caltrans last week to discuss
concerns about the condition of the 210, 215, 10, and 259 Freeways, on ramps, and
off ramps in San Bernardino in comparison to other cities and our expectations.
The meeting was very productive. Cleanup and landscaping crews have been
spotted daily in San Bernardino since the meeting.

Animal ServicesAnimal Services
The Animal Shelter currently has over 250 wonderful dogs and dozens of cats,
including kittens available for adoption.
Through August 31, all adoptions are only $25, which includes spay/neutering,
vaccines, and microchipping.

Little League Baseball Regionals

All Star teams from the Western United
States will be in San Bernardino
August 5-11 for the Western Regionals.
The winners will advance to the Little
League World Series.
Games are free to attend.

softball Western Regionals in San Bernardino this past weekend!

All contracts in excess of $40,000 signed by the City Manager, Agency
Directors, Directors and/or their designees shall be reported (in list form)
to the Mayor and City Council at each Regular City Council meeting
during the City Manager Update.
The Following Contracts were recently signed:
1)6/13/2023 Public Works: Tryco General Engineering for an emergency storm drain
repair on 5th Street just east of Mountain View, $40,000; signed by Daniel
Hernandez
2)7/1/2023 Parks and Recreation: Sysco Food Services for the Senior Nutrition
Program food and consumables for FY 2023/24 (grant funded), $41,900; signed
by Lydie Gutfeld
