Congratulations to Officer Dave Rosas
for 40 Years at SBPD!
Last week, SBPD Officer Dave Rosas celebrated 40 years (and counting) on the force with SBPD.
Here are a few interesting facts Officer Rosas mentioned about being a cop 40 years ago:
•The police car was the Plymouth Volare.
•"Call boxes" were positioned throughout
the City where officers would use a key to
open the box to make a phone call.
•Police radios in their cars had to be
"warmed up" for about ten minutes before
going in-service.
•Ofc. Rosas walked a foot patrol along Mt.
Vernon Ave. on Fridays. He remembers
the Azteca Movie Theater being open.
Thank you, Officer Rosas!!!
