General Manager Sean Henderson and his entire team were proud to show off the facility and the cherry red Corvette in the showroom! The dealership is located on 21st Street south of Highland near the 210/215 interchange. Ribbon Cutting at Diamond Chevrolet Earlier today, the SBCTA Board approved a 15-year lease extension for Amtrak to continue service at the historic Santa Fe Depot. The agreement runs through 2039 and includes two additional five-year options. Thank you, Amtrak for your commitment to San Bernardino! Amtrak to Remain in San Bernardino San Bernardino’s Arrow Line will be the first in North America to feature a first self-powered, zero-emission passenger train. The ZEMU – Zero Emission Multiple Unit arrived late last month for final testing and will be placed into service later this year. The train is powered by a hybrid hydrogen and battery engine. Water vapor is the only emission generated. First Zero Emission Train in North America Arrives in San Bernardino Fire District Increases Investment in the City This week, the San Bernardino County Fire District added 12 new positions in the City to better respond to calls for service. The District added to each shift a medic squad at Station 222 on the west side at 9th/ Gardner and a 4th firefighter to the truck stations at Station 221 at 3rd near Waterman and Station 224 on E Street near 27th.Assistant Chief Gary Jager and members of Station 229 near Nicholson Park. Congratulations to the County Fire District who last month opened their new 79,000 sq. ft. Fire Headquarters on Tippecanoe. This $26 million project consolidates their operations right here in San Bernardino. Pet Adoption Week a Big Success! Animal Services held a Pet Adoption week from June 18-23rd in partnership with Ryan’s War, the Eastwood Foundation, Platt College, Angels of Rawley, Catsnippers, and the David Toro Foundation. The event culminated with an adoption and microchipping fair at Wildwood Park. In total, 194 dogs and cats were adopted or rescued! It is hot outside! The City’s Community Centers, Senior Centers, Pools, Splash Pads and Libraries serve as excellent places to cool off or avoid using your air conditioning. Please visit the City website for locations and hours. Remember to check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and those with young children. Fireworks What is Illegal? Fireworks that fly through the air, move across the ground or explode. This includes, firecrackers, skyrockets, roman candles, or explosive items, such as M-80’s or M-100’s. No one under 18 may buy or possess fireworks Any firework usage is prohibited north of the 210 Freeway and 30th Street. Any firework usage is prohibited in public parks or on public streets. Only “Safe and Sane” Fireworks are legal and no fireworks are legal north of the 210 Freeway. Fireworks can be ignited on private property only, no discharge on unpaved open areas, public streets or right-of-way, or in public parks.
