The funds were among the Community Project Funding requests from Congressman Pete Aguilar for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. $950,000 will help fund new high definition security cameras in downtown San Bernardino and $863,000 will help fund a new community center at Nicholson Park. New Mobile Animal Clinic Launched On Tuesday, the City held a ribbon cutting with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians to celebrate the launch of the new Mobile Pet Clinic. The Mobile Clinic will bring needed services, including vaccinations and microchipping to neighborhoods, parks, and community centers around the City. City NewsCity News San Bernardino Symphony’s Parnther Conducts Academy Award Winning Score This year’s Academy Award for the Best Original Score went to Oppenheimer, composed by Ludwig Göransson and conducted by San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra Music Director Anthony Parnther. March Madness in SB! Cal State Men’s Basketball Reaches Elite 8! On Monday night, the Cal State San Bernardino Men’s Basketball Team defeated Azuza Pacific 74-67 to win the NCAA Division II Western Regional and reach the Elite Eight! The 6th seeded Yotes will play in Evansville, Indiana on Tuesday, March 26 with the winner to reach the Final Four! Eggstravaganza This Saturday at Fiscalini Field Eggstravaganza This Saturday at Fiscalini Field The third annual Eggstravaganza will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 23 at Perris Hill Park’s Fiscalini Field. There will be egg hunts for kids between one and twelve years old featuring 30,000 eggs, as well as games, crafts, and photos with the Bunny. Please check the Parks and Recreation website for age specific egg hunt times. Kudos to staff and volunteers who have been busy stuffing the eggs with goodies all this week! Comings and Goings Longtime Civic Leader Gabriel Elliott has joined the City as its new Director of Community Development and Housing. Elliott brings over 30 years of public community development and planning experience to the City, most recently serving as the Director of Planning for Calaveras County. The recently re-organized Community Development and Housing Department includes Planning, Building and Safety, Code Enforcement and Housing and Homelessness.
