BE::IT.RE.SOLVED. BY: THE MAYOR AND: COMMON :COUNCIL OF: THE.:CITY
OF SAN BERNARD.INO. AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION .1. Resolution No. 643.3'Secti:on Six is hereby
amended to read as :follows:
"Section Six. In W' ;;Leave. When injury is sustained in
the :course 'of, arising out of and proximately. caused by, the.
performance of duties of the employment under th.e Mayor and
Common Council of the City.of San Bernardino, said employee :shall
be: compensated under the provisions of the. Workmen's Compen-
sation Insurance and Safety. Act :of California, ,and not :under.
the provisions of thi:s.res;oluti.on; provided, however, that .during
the :first seven days -of necessary absence :for such :cause, the
disabled person shall receive one hundred per cent JI.M.), of his
normal salary or wages for that period.
When an employee :is 'off the :payroll -or pay because of sick
leave or injury and has not had a. vacation at ah:e. 'end of the
current year, he shall be 'allowed to takd his. vacation in the
next.calendar year,,but must take :said vacation prior to the
time he':returns to: work afterhis illness or injury.
The.City.will pay medical fees.for physical examinations of
general employees when such:examinati.on is required and directed

SECTION; :2.` Resolution No. 6433 'Section Twelve :is hereby

"Section 'Twelve.. (a.) The City: shall pay for court :fines
imposed upon each .genes:al employee .as a result of hi:s con
victi:on of a traffic violation when such employee was: directed
to oper.ate.any faulty vehicle or. vehicular equipment which'was
the proximate: cause:of the. mechanical or other: traffic, violation,
provided that:such violation did not:res:ult:from improper or
negligent .operation of th-e vehicle on the part of the employee..
(b.) : The. City sha l provide a tool replacement allowance for
lost .or damaged personal tools in an amount not to. exceed'$50.`.00.`
per, year per. employee in any of the :following: classifications-:-
(l) Ci'ty.Garage Senior Mechanic,' Equipment Mechanic.,
Mechanic II, Mechanic I, Mechanic Helper, and Automotive .Service-
man; (2.)'2 Transit Department:: Equipment Mechanic and Utility
Serviceman; (3.)' Water Department:: Equipment Mechanic Foreman
and Mechanic; (4). Electrical Department:. Electrician, Elec-
trical Apprentice, Electrical Helper, Lineman, and Traffic.
Signal Technician and Construction Technician; provided that -all-
tools are adequately marked, inventoried with :report .of inventory
filed with .the department head, and maintained under reasonable
and adequate:security.. Tools lost :or damaged through no fault
of th:e'employee. will bey replaced by the employee: and reimburse-.
ment will be: made by th.e.:Ci.ty upon submission of an appropriate
form furnished by the City and supported by an invoice or receipt.
Forms will be: submitted semiannually in June .and December or
upon termination of the employee.Trom City service for any
reason. Damaged tools that are :replaced through.reimbursement
by. the: City shall be 'turned in to. thee 'department head and shall
become th:e property: of the City.

(c) The City shall provide :uniforms and uniform :cleaning
service :for the following classifications (1.) City Garage:
Shop Foreman, Equipment Mechanic Foreman, Equipment Mechanic,
Senior Mechanic, Mechanic II, Mechanic I, Painter., Welder, and
Mechanic Helper;-(2.)`. Transit Department:: Shop Foreman, Mechanic
and Utility Serviceman; (8)' Water Department:. Mechanic,
Mechanic Helper (W:.D.), Meter: Reader., Meter. Uti:lityman, Meter.
Service Specialist,Meter and Service Supervisor, and Equipment
Mechanic Foreman; (4.)'. Street Dep'artment:: eight 'employees
assigned to. sewer: maintenance,. Skilled Laborer. (Street Baracade)
(5.)' Sewer Plant:. Sewer Plant Foreman, Sewer: Plant Operator,
Stationary Mechanic,,Plant Maintenanceman, Skilled Laborer;
(6)` Electrical Department: :Lineman, Electrical Apprentices,
Electrical Helpers, Electricians, and Traffic Signal Technicians.
:The City shall provide:app:ropriate rain gear for Refuse
Operators 'I, II, and III in the Refuse:Disposal Department;.for
the CemeteryDepartment :personnel:; and for those .personnel. in
the Street,: Sewer Plants:, Electrical and Park:and Recreation
Departments who: may be:assigned to.wo:rk .in nclement weather.
There will be kept :in Central Stores. six sets: of rain gear to'.be
made :available:.on loan as needed to: employees :in the..Garage :and
Engineering Dep'artmerits .
SECTION 3.' The: :rights: and benefits. granted by this.
resolution shall terminate on July 1,: 1973 'in .the event such
rights: or benefits. are: not :exte:rided and continued by the. Mayor
and Common Council.
