JOHN KRA~ER
SAN EERNARDINO CITY PARKS AND
RECREATION DSPARTMENT
300 N. D STREET
SAN BERNARDINO, CA. 92401
DEAR MR. KRAi~ERI
OUR ~ROUP, JUNIOR UNIVERSITY, PLAYS FOR CHILDREN, HAS BEEN
PERFORMING IN SAN BERNARDINO FOR NEARLY 25 YEARS, THE LAST
SEVERAL YEARS IN ROOSEVELT BO\o.'L (PERRIS HILL BOWL). THE VIEWERS
HAVE GROWN IN NU:'lEERS FROM A HUNDRED OR SO TO NEARLY TWENTY
THOUSAND DURING THE TWO-WEEK RUN OF OUR ANNUAL PRESENTATION.
WE ARE SELF SUPPORTING. THE INCOME WE RECEIVE IS FROM TICKET
SALES, ADVERTISEMENT IN OUR PROGRAM, AND FROM THE SALE OF
SOFT DRINKS AND GANDY DURING INTERMISSION THROUGHOUT THE SHOW'S
RUN, THIS YEAR, JULY 21 THROUGH AUGUST 3, 1986.
SINCE JUNIOR UNIVERSITY IS, AND PROBAELY WILL CONTINUE TO BE, THE
BOWL'S LARGEST USER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE ARE REQUESTING THAT
THE CITY ACCEPT THE JUNIOR UNIVERSITY'S PAYMENT OF THE INSURANCE
PREMIU~ IN LIEU OF THE RENTAL FEES FOR THE USE OF THE ROOSEVELT
BOWL.
JUNIOR UNIVERSITY IS PROVIDING A $1,000,000. CO~PREHENSIVE
LIABILITY POLICY THAT COVERS THE CITY. THE PREMIUM ON THIS
POLICY IS VERY COSTLY AND THE ADDITION OF RENTAL COSTS WOULD
MAKE FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.
YOUR CONSIDERATION IN THIS V~TTER IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
