CI" OF SAN BERNARD. - REQU.T FOR COUNCIL ~N STAFF REPORT This liability claim is the result of a non-lnJury traffic collision which occurred at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Ave. and Mill St. on December 22, 1985 at about 1:24 p.m. At the time that this accident occurred, a uniformed San Bernardino Police officer was standing in the center of the intersection directing traffic due to a large accum- ulation of "cruiser" type traffic in the area. The signal lights were operating on normal cycle and there were no flare patterns being used. The officer directing traffic directed the claimant into the path of an oncoming vehicle resulting in a collision which caused approximately $6,500.00 damage to the claimant's 1985 Pontiac Fiero. The settlement figure of $6,950.00 which is being recommended is to compen- sate the claimant for the actual cost of his vehicle repairs and approximately $200.00 for miscellaneous medical expenses. kds 75-0264
