STAFF REPORT
SECCOMBE LAKE PARK AREA
A Seccombe Lake Study Team has been formed consisting of Agency staff, City staff
and Councilmembers Estrada and Reilly.
At its first meeting, the Study Team reviewed the land uses surrounding the park
and discussed a number of potential boundaries for the study. The Planning
Department has been asked to develop two or more approaches to defining
development in the area and also to recommend study area boundaries.
PROPOSED AUTO REPAIR CENTER
A final decision will have to wait for the adoption of development criteria for
the site.
The initial impression was that the proposed use did not benefit from its
proximity to the park and therefore was not the highest and best use for the
site. Furthermore, the proposed use does not seem to enhance the park.
On the other hand, the Repair Center concept did not seem to be especially harmful
to the park environment if proper controls were placed upon the use of areas
fronting on the park.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. on June 26, 1986.
