STAFF REPORT
Charter Section 36 provides that the Common Council shall appoint
one of their own number Mayor pro-tempore in case of vacancy, or
if by reason of absence from the City, or sickness, or from any
other cause, the Mayor is unable to perform the duties of his or
her office.
During June, 1986, the Council Member from the First Ward is
performing the duties of Mayor pro-tempore. The attached
resolution, therefore, establishes that the Council Member from
the Second Ward shall be Mayor pro-tempore for the month of July,
1986, and continues with each Council Member in succession.
Adoption of the attached resolution will provide the manner in
which the appointment of a Mayor pro-tempore shall take place.
