RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE
NEGATIVE DECLARATION AS TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND ADOPTING
3 AMENDMENT NO. 86-1 TO THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO (GENERAL PLAN LAND USE ELEMENT).

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
5 OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. Recitals.
7 (a) The General Plan Land Use Element for the City of San
8 Bernardino was adopted by the Mayor and Common Council by
9 Resolution No. 7336 on August 17, 1964.
10 (b) Amendment No. 86-1 to the General Plan of the City of
11 San Bernardino was approved by the Planning Commission of the
12 City of San Bernardino on May 6, 1986, after a legally advertised
13 public hearing.
14 (c) A negative declaration issued by the Environmental
15 Review Committee of the City, complete with an initial study
16 relating to Amendment No. 86-1, and all comments relative thereto
17 have been reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission and
18 the Mayor and Common Council in compliance with the California
19 Environmental Quality Act and local regulations.
20 (d) The Mayor and Common Council reviewed and considered
21 proposed Amendment No. 86-1 on May 19, 1986, and held a public
22 hearing thereon.
23 (e) The adoption of Amendment No. 86-1 is deemed in the
24 interest of the orderly development of the City and is consistent
25 with the goals and objectives of the existing General Plan.
26 SECTION 2. NeQative Declaration. The Mayor and Common
27 Council hereby find and declare that the proposed amendment to

1 the General Plan of the City of San Bernardino will have no
2 significant effect on the environment, and the negative
3 declaration heretofore adopted by the Environmental Review
4 Committee as to the effect of this proposed amendment is hereby
5 ratified, affirmed and adopted.
6 SECTION 3. Amendment. The Land Use Element of the General
7 Plan of the City of San Bernardino is amended by changing the
8 approximately 25.2 acres located northerly of 9th Street,
9 easterly of Tippecanoe Avenue, southerly of the Warm Creek
10 Channel, approximately 1200 feet west of Del Rosa Avenue, as
11 outlined on the map entitled Exhibit VI, a copy of which is
12 attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, from low-
13 medium density residential (4-7 dwelling units per acre) to
14 medium high density residential (15-21 dwelling units per acre,
15 cap at 20 dwelling units per acre). This amendment is designated
16 as General Plan Amendment No. 86-1.
17 SECTION 4. Map Notation. This resolution and the amendment
18 effected by it shall be noted on such appropriate maps as have
19 been adopted and approved by the Mayor and Common Council.
