J /4. elk OF SAN BERNARD~O - REQU"T FOR COUNCIL AC~ON STAFF REPORT On June 11, 1984, the City Attorney was authorized to initiate eminent domain proceedings to acquire certain property for the construction of the Tippecanoe Avenue Bridge project. Parcel 15 is one of several parcels for which eminent domain proceedings were initiated. This parcel was appraised by a county appraiser at a value of $66,500. Brion Corporation, the owner of the property, demanded $110,000. Robert O. Cooley, a real estate appraiser, was retained by the City to make an independent appraisal. Mr. Cooley's appraisal indicates that the value of the subject parcel is $91,150. In view of the amount of this appraisal, City representatives met with representatives of the Brion Corporation, and through negotiation arrived at an agreed value of $90,000 for this parcel. It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council approve that amount for the acquisition of the subject parcel. This approval is, however, subject to review by CalTrans before payment can be made. 75-0264 f l. t\ i:/ I v i * ~ I i . * a . . . . II C E3 a c a ,It tt.~." .~~~ ~ >.
