Synopsis of Prevfous Council action:
7-01-85 Resolution No. 85-251 adopted authorizing execution of the Right-of-Way
Certificate.
9-13-85 Resolution No. 85-365 adopted authorizing execution of Cooperative
Agreement with County relating to installation of traffic signals at
Baseline Street.
10-21-85 -- Resolution No. 85-425 adopted authorizing execution of Program Supple-
ment No. 40 to Local Agency-State Agreement No. 8-5033.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for the extension of Del Rosa Avenue, from
9th Street to Baseline Street, in accordance with Plan No.
4993, be approved; and the Director of Public Works/City
Engineer authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans and specifications for this extension have been prepared by the
Engineering Division, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids..
Approval to advertise has just been received from Caltrans, as required for
Federal-Aid Urban Projects.
The project will consist, in general, of constructing a bridge over
Warm Creek, installing traffic signals at Baseline Street, and constructing
24 feet of paving from 9th Street to Baseline Street.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost:

Execution of Program Supplement No. 40 served to obligate $441,431 in
Federal-Aid Urban Funds, apportioned on a population basis. An additional
apportionment of $142,932 has been approved by SANBAG from regional Federal-Aid
Urban Funds. Local matching funds in the amount of $96,150 have been allocated
in the Street Construction Fund Budget, under Account No. 242-362-57342, for
a total available amount of $683,513.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted to
advertise for bids.
URGENCY CLAUSE
It is vital that authorization to advertise for bids be granted at the
earliest possible time in order that construction can be accomplished during
the dry season.
