Synopsis of Previous Council action:
12-2-85 Approved the General Unit MOU and the Middle Management MOU, which
granted 6% and 5% salary schedule increases respectively 7/7/86.
11-18-85 Approved Management/Confidential salary schedule increases which
included 5% 7/7/86.

STAFF REPORT
The Resolution as attached which affects the C.PnPral rTni
salary schedule (Section Ten of 6413) has been improved by
the 68 increase previously negotiated. Its cost for FY 86-87
is approximately 5800,000.
The Resolution as attached which affects the Middle Manaae-
~ salary schedule (Section Eleven of 6413) has been
improved by the 58 increase previously negotiated. its cost
for FY 86-87 is approximately 590,000.
The Resolution which affects the Management/Confidential
Employee salary schedule (Section Twelve of 6413) has been
improved by the 58 increase previously approved, and has been
segmented to show Confidential employees on Section Twelve
and Management Employees on new section Fourteen. The
segmentation serves to give each commonly known group a
salary resolution.
The class of Administrative Aide has not been in use for some
time. It was thus removed from Section Twelve of 6413. The
class of Administrative Assistant to the Council has been
more properly placed in Section Fourteen (and removed from
Section Twelve) of 6413. There is no cost associated with
the changes to these two classes. The total cost of the 58
salary improvement for FY 86-87 is approximately 5150,000.
Note: Section Thirteen (Part Time/Temporary Wages) does not
appear on this packet as it remains unchanged.
Costs: The full costs of the approved increases for 1986-87
are hiajLS~ than salary costs alone because benefit increases
were also granted. The full costs are noted below for your
information:
