Clwr OF SAN BERNARDWO - REQU.T FOR COUNCIL ACflON
STAFF REPORT
The San Bernardino County Museum has requested from this department the donation of
an old 15' X 15' shed located at the Patton Park property, once used by the Patton
State Hospital dairy operations.
The County r1useum is in the process of developing a major permanent interpretive display
at the museum on the history of mining in San Bernardino County. There will be no
cost to the city. The C.ounty t1useum will accompl ish the removal of the shed with their
own forces.
The shed is one of several dairy structures which will be demolished when improvement
of the property takes place in the future.
The donation of this small structure will be a significant contribution to making the
mining display a reality.

Dear Mr. Kramer,
The San Bernardino County Museum is is the process of developing a major
permanent interpretive display on the history of mining in San Bernardino
County at the Museum in Redlands. In conjunction with this exhibit area,
we have acquired through donation significant large pieces of mining and
milling equipment. To complete the exhibit we have been searching for
a suitable outbuilding or shed to be incorporated into the outdoor exhibit.
With the help of Ken Jensen, a volunteer at the Museum, and Audrey Taylor
of the Parks Department, we have located a shed and associated old lumber
that would be ideal for our exhibit purposes, located on the old Patton
dairy farm and under the jurisdiction of your department. We would be
most appreciative if this shed and lumber could be transfered by donation
to the Museum where they would be put to use in our educational and display
programs.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
Sincerely,
~
