STAFF REPORT
GALLERY TOUR PROGRAM - Initiate a regular tour program for exhibitions
throughout the year at California State University Gallery for grammer school,
junior high and high school students.
SATURDAY MORNING STUDIO PROGRAM - For San Bernardino high school students, this
program will consist of three-hour classes conducted on eight consecutive
weekends consisting of instruction in (1) Painting & drawing (2) Ceramics &
Glass (3) Photography (4) Graphic Design. .
SUMMER THEATRE ACADEMY - Will provide five weeks of intensive summer training
on the campus of California State University/San Bernardino with Theatre
faculty and students offering instruction in voice, movement, acting and
rehearsal for up to sixty selected high school sophomore and juniors culminating
in three public performances. This will develop thinking, inter-active and
self-discipline skills.
SUMMER MUSIC ACADEMY - Semi-private instrumental and vocal instruction, small
and large ensemble performing experiences and music reading training to
elementary (and eventually secondary) students. The program is available to
grades four through six.
These are pilot programs (through the Fine Arts Commission grants) to build
a networking effort with the Inland Empire Symphony and other organizations
in the City who work with young musicians, thus linking the schools and
community organizations for future involvement.
