The project consists, in general, of removing the existing
lighting system and installing a new system, that will be more energy
efficient and provide a higher level of lighting on the playing field.
At the Council Meeting of 10-07-85, an amount of $38,000 was
allocated from CDBG Funds to Account No, 240-360-57150, to finance the
costs incurred for upgrading the lighting system for this ballfield.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
URGENCY CLAUSE
The plans for this project will have to be approved by the State Architect,
since the site is school property. It is vital that advertising be
started immediately upon approval by the State Architect, in order to
have the new lighting system in operation by the start of the softball
season.
