Synopsis of Previous Council action:
11-04-85 -- "Additional allocation of $460,000 from SB 300 Funds, if and when
available, be restricted to major arterial projects within the City
on a priority basis as established by the City Engineer and Director
of Public Services, irrespective of wards."
Recommended motion:
That the joint recommendation for reconstruction/resurfacing of
major arterials, from the second apportionment of SB 300 Funds,
be approved,

Recommended reconstruction/resurfacing projects for the second
apportionment of SB 300 funds are set forth below:

The total is slightly over the anticipated second apportionment of
$460,000. However, it is very likely that enou9h cost savings could be
realized on other projects to finance the total amount,

The estimate for 40th Street is based upon the work being done by
contract, under a cooperative agreement with the County. The total estimated
cost is $320,200, with $93,500 (29.2%) being financed by the County. This
estimate is based upon the "worst case" situation, and includes removal of all
existing pavement. If it is determined that all, or a portion, of the existing
pavement will match the grade of the future widening and can be retained, the
cost will decrease accordingly.

The estimates for the other streets were prepared by the Public
Services Department on the basis of heating and remixing, and applying I inch
asphalt concrete resurfacing.

We recommend that this priority list be approved,
URGENCY CLAUSE:
All SB 300 funds are to be spent or expended by June, 1986. Therefore, it is
essential that an early decision be made on which streets are to be reconstructed/
resurfaced with these funds.
