Dear Mr. Rei'ly:
Immediately after rece1v1ng confirmation in
writing that our variance was granted, I contacted
the headquarters of the Mobi'e Missionary Assistance
Program.
The Director ca'led me last week to say that
the C. & M. A. is an officially approved project.
However, because so many sma'ler churches are seeking
their assistance, their workers cannot return until
MarCh/Apri' rather than January/February.
The variance specified the first two months.
Wi'l this technicality make a difference requiring
us to seek an ammendment? Or 6an we assume that
we are safely covered?
Nothing else would be changed. Their length of
stay and the support facilities will be identical.
Thank you for letting us draw upon your
wisdom and experience once again.
The Alliance family and I personally wish you
a wonderful Christmas in every way.
Cordia lly yours,
~~~
in January and/or F~bruary, '986. Th", members of MlI1AP will
live in their own RVs and park on a s~ction of land not used
for any other purpose.
The Mobi'e Missionary Assistance Program is an inter-denominat-
labor and ski" to small churches having repair and remode',ing
needs. Tho churches they assist lack man power and money to
maintain their faci'itips or mako neoded repairs.
THE bllQAP peop'o trave' to the host church at their own expense
and receive abso'utely no payment for their service. Th~ ~U~AP
members work four days a wepk for three weoks and then drive
to another project or return hom!". MMAP headquarters considprs
We have discussed this situation with Superintendent Jack
Rosebraugh. He requested an explanation of how electricity,
water and sanitation will be provided.
Electricity: The church has hook ups from the fellowship hall
with heavy duty "xtension cords which provide 115 amps for each
vehic lE'.
Water: The church has six out door faucets for wat~r.
Sanitation: The I~~APers will utilize the church men's and women's
restrooms which wi'l be op~n to them day and night. The rest
rooms have hot and cold water at all times, sinks, toilets and
mirrors.
Additionallv the MMAPers can uti'izo 'ocal authorized tank
dumping sites to ompty their 15 gal'on holding tanks. One such
faci'ity is tho Hi'ton Union Sorvice at 'i.950 S. Waterman Avenu?,
approximately ton minutes from the church. Tho cost for the
drive in - drive out facility is $2.50.
