Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Novenber, 1983 -- Resolution No. 83-384 adopted granting authorization to file
1983/84 Project Proposals with SANBAG for funding pursuant to
Senate Bill No. 821 for bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for construction of sidewalk on Highland Avenue
(north side), frcm WaterIll3I1 Avenue to East 'lINin Creek, in
ac=rdance with Plan No. 6858, be approved; and the Director of
Public ~rks/City ,Engineer authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
'fW:) sections of sidewalk _re originally submitted - east of Watenran
Avenue, (adjacent to the Mt. View Cerretery) and frcrn orange Street to Palm Avenue,
on the north side of Highland Avenue. HO\\ever, an asfhalt concrete sidewalk has
since been constructed from Orange Street to Palm Avenue. W2 have received
SANBAG'S approval to delete this section, and expand the other easterly to East
Twin Creek.
Plans for constructing a standard 6' sidewalk have been prepared by the
ErBineerirY:} Division and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. Sidewalk
will be installed as required to fill-in the gaps.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost.
