The costs saved as a result of the approval of the change order total $23,741.00. Based upon the above action Councilman Reilly requested reconsideration of the Valley Truck Farm item. Staff was requested to investigate the possibility of using $3,880 (saved as a result of deleting the median paving) to fund beautification of the Waterman Avenue median. After consulting with the Director of Public Works, it was determined that the $3,880.00 would beautify a maximum of 700 feet, and probably less than one (1) city block. In view of this fact, staff feels if the funds saved were to be used for this purpose, it would be more prudent and cost-effective to utilize the total amount saved, $23,741, to beautify the Waterman Avenue median from Dumas Street to Central Avenue. The work would be accomplished by city forces. Staff recommends that this item be addressed during the public hearing on the Jobs Bill transfer. Staff further recommends that this item be approved. 445L r"~ '- ,,1"'''''' '-' 75-0264
