CM OF SAN BERNARICtO - REQlA.BT FOR COUNCIL AbJlON STAFF REPORT The Police Department has worked with the San Bernardino County Office on Aging since May 28, 1984. During that time, through the Senior Community Service Project,(SCSP) the Office on Aging has supplied the department a senior citizen to help with clerical work in the Records Bureau. The Office on Aging has paid that person an hourly wage, and the department has used the person to microfilm police records. The program has been a success for the Police Department and provided a part-time job for a senior citizen. The Office on Aging asks that the department, through the Chief of Police, sign a worksite letter of agreement and the Police Department requests that the Common Council approve the resolution. cgr 75-0264 - - , \, , ' ",,", '-" .....,I' 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY OFFICE ON 3 AGING PERMITTING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO UTILIZE A SENIOR CITIZEN TO HELP WITH CLERICAL WORK IN THE RECORDS BUREAU. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 5 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 6 SECTION 1. The Chief of Police of the City of San Bernardino 7 is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said 8 City an agreement with the San Bernardino County Office on Aging 9 permitting the Police Department to utilize a senior citizen to 10 help with clerical work in the records bureau. To provide adequate supervision of the enrollee and to provide orientation and the necessary training concerning the worksite, its activities, and the enrollee's day-to-day responsibilities. 2. To provide a copy of the enrollee's job description to the enrollee, the enrollee' 5 supervisor, and the Senior Employment Program, and to update each job description when necessary. 3. To consider any q'~a1ifies and to possible. enrollee for all job openings for which hire a qualified enrollee into a permanent that enrollee position when 4.
