STAFF REPORT
.
Parcel Map No. 9506 will create 20 parcels
parcels, north of "ill Street and east of "G" Street.
posed zoning is 1'-2.
from 5 ex'isting vacant
The existing and pro-
One condition of approval for thi~ parcel map would be to
contribute this development's "fair share" of the cost for installing
traffic signals at the intersection of Mill Street and "G" Street. The
developer volunteered to contribute in the amount of $12,500. This is more
than his "fair share" would have been by our standard procedures.
A check for $12,500 was received in our office on 10-7-85, along
with a request that the traffic signals be installed as soon as possible.
The installation of traffic signals at this intersection is
listed on our current Capital Improvement Program in the 1988-89 Fiscal Year.
However, the National Lumber development and Parcel Map No. 9506 will serve
to significantly increase the volume of traffic through this intersection.
In view of the increased traffic volume, and contribution by the
developer, we recommend that authorization be granted to proceed with prep-
aration of the plans and specifications. 8ringing a project to a state of
being job ready usually enhances the prospects of securing the necessary
funding for construction.
