for the low bid price of $143,853.82.
Recommended motion:

That Change Order No. One to the contract with Bob Britton,
.Inc., for the Grading, Irrigation and Hydrospraying of Al
Guhin Park, in accordance with Plan No. 6626, be approved;
to authorize payment for changing the electrical service
from single phase to three-phase at an increase in the con-
tract price of $450.00, from $143,853.82 to $144,303.B2.

STAFF REPORT
The plans and specifications were designed to provide single phase
electrical service for the irrigation controller. Three phase power will
be required when the park is fully developed with the planned facilities.
Southern California Edison has recommended that 3-phase power be provided
at this time. since it will be less costly than converting when further
development occurs.
The Contractor has quoted a price of $450.00 for providing 3-phase
power, in lieu.of single phase. We feel. this is a fair and reasonable
price, and much cheaper than providing 3 phase power in the future.
The total estimated project cost, based upon the actual low bid
price, included an amount of $16,546.18 for contingencies, which can be
used to finance' the cost of this change order.
We recommend Change Order No.1 be approved.
URGENCY CLAUSE
It is essential that approval of this change order be obtained as soon as
possible in order to. avoid delaying completion of the project.
